WATCH: Britney Spears Gets Harsh On The X Factor USA In New Promo

Photo: WENN

It looks as though Simon Cowell’s reality TV nastiness has rubbed off on Britney Spears after the star came off as harsh when she asked an auditionee who let him on the stage to perform, in a new promo for the show.

Her statement to the hopeful in the clip comes after she is seen describing herself as a subtle judge. Speaking to the camera, Britney can be seen saying: "So far everything has been so much fun. It’s been a new experience for me and the talent has been amazing.

"I feel like my judging style is very subtle, I try to use constructive criticism."

Hmm, we’re not sure that hopeful would have considered her statement to him as constructive.

Demi Lovato also featured in the clip where she spoke of her time on the show. having been welcomed onto the show as a replacement for Nicole Scherzinger, who is now a judge on the UK version, said:

"the most fun about being on the X Factor is seeing people that really wow you and knowing that you saw them before they were going to become stars."

Believing that she is a "happy judge", the star continued: "I am a happy judge and I’m really honest. the whole panel is really honest."

‘The X Factor Philippines’ Top 20 Now Ready to Vie for the Final 12 Slots

The country’s biggest musical event of the year “The X Factor Philippines” finally named the top 20 contestants who will advance to the Judges’ Homes round of the competition.

Making it to the list of Boys (solo male performers 16-25 yrs old) are Anton AntenorCruz, Jeric Medina, Michael Pangilinan, Gabriel Anciano Maturan, and Kedebon Colim.

Allen Jane Sta. Maria, Jerrianne Mae Templo, KZ Tandingan, Abigail Mendoza, and Angelica Prado made it to the Girls (solo female performers 16-25 yrs old) category.

Contestants aged 26 and above also prove to be strong contenders with Joan Da, Paulo Castro, Cristine Ledesma, Mark Mabasa, and Modesto Taran comprising the over 25s (solo performers 26 yrs old and above).

Completing the top 20 are the Groups (16 yrs old and above) namely Daddy’s Home, 5th Avids, Take Off, Sweet Bliss, and Lucky Girls. The Lucky Girls are composed of five different solo female performers who didn’t quite make the cut in the Girls category. Judge-mentors Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Charice, and Pilita Corrales saw a lot of potential in them that they decided to merge them in one group so as to advance to the next round.

All 20 contestants will join their respective group mentors in their houses or the mentor’s location of choice where they will be thoroughly trained to become better performers. The competition definitely gets more exciting and eliminations gets even more dramatic as only 12 contestants— three from each category— shall advance to the next and final round.

Who will mentor the Boys, Girls, over 25s, and Groups? who will make the cut and who will bid goodbye as the judge-mentors finally name the top 12 finalists who must impress the public via the live shows?

Don’t miss the country’s biggest and grandest musical event of the year, “The X Factor Philippines,” with KC Concepcion as host, every Saturday, after “MMK,” and every Sunday, after “Sarah G Live” on ABS-CBN. One Direction childhood pics in 'X Factor' promo; Miley Cyrus stalks Zayn Malik

Just in case people didn’t know where the biggest boy band in the world right now came from, “The X Factor” U.K. has made a promotional video for its ninth season, with the video reminding people that One Direction was created on “The X Factor” U.K.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus, 19, has admitted that she is one of many teenagers who have become obsessed with One Direction. and she has confessed to a particular interest in One Direction’s Zayn Malik, who is also 19.

The “X Factor” U.K. promo video, which was released on July 27, 2012, features childhood photos of the five members of One Direction (Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan), as well as footage of the group when One Direction competed on the show in 2010. (One Direction ended up in third place.) since then, One Direction has become the biggest global act to emerge from “The X Factor,” by having no. 1 hits and sold-out tours in several countries.

All five members of the group auditioned for “The X Factor” U.K. as solo singers but were rejected as solo singers. They were then put into a group by “The X Factor” executive producer Simon Cowell, who became One Direction’s mentor on the show. Cowell later signed One Direction to Syco Music, the record company that he co-owns with Sony Music.

As for Cyrus, who knows what it’s like to be a teen idol to millions, she tweeted this message on July 27, 2012: “Feel like I’m hangin with a 13 year old girl when I have sleepovers with gays! Weve spent an hour stalking Zayn from @onedirection but gotta admit I love every second of it.”

It’s all in good fun though, since Cyrus and Malik are in serious romantic relationships with other people. Cyrus is engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth. Malik has been dating little Mix’s Perrie Edwards, 19, since the spring of 2012, and he has publicly declared his love for her.

X Factor 2012: Tulisa rubbishes “bulls**t” claims she doesn’t like Nicole

X Factor judge Tulisa has hit back at reports claiming she’s not pals with Nicole Scheringer on the panel.

It was reported by the Daily Star Sunday that the pair of female panelists were barely speaking to one another.

Hunky Gary Barlow even moved from his spot on the end of the judges’ desk to sit between the two girls for bootcamp last week, in a bid to improve the chemistry of the line up.

“It’s no secret that Tulisa and Nicole aren’t the best of friends,” one source claimed. “They barely spoke to each other despite being sat next to one another on the panel so the decision was made to split them up.

“Both wanted to be next to Gary though, so in the end he was the one who moved to try to keep everyone happy.”

Upfront Tulisa however took to Twitter this evening and was quick to hit back at the tabloid speculation.

She wrote: “Piss off media with all ur me n @NicoleScherzy beef talk! Ur always guna try and make a headline cus uve got nothin good 2 write about…

“We get on fine!Just coz we r different doesnt mean we dont like each other!n if we didnt..believe me,Id let u know #hatebulls**t”

Well, that’s that all cleared up then.

Are Reality Shows Good Examples of Marketing?

Do you remember, back at the beginning of the 2000s, when reality shows were just launching and were all the rage? I can’t think of anyone I know who didn’t watch at least something from the Apprentice to big Brother, the X Factor or Strictly come Dancing to name oh but a few.

And yet, these days they seem to be a dying breed. yes, they’re still there, but people seem to have grown tired of the format – even the judges have gone elsewhere. Recent news reports about the X Factor 2011 show that none of the previous judges will be appearing.

So, are reality shows good examples of marketing? Let’s compare then and now.

Back then, when the reality TV shows really kicked of in a big way, it was at a time when big Saturday night shows had gone by the wayside. gone were the days when families used to gather round the box on Saturday night eagerly anticipating the latest game show etc. all the classic games shows had ended or were coming towards the end.

Producers of the big reality shows judged their audience just right and knew that there was a longing for new shows for the Saturday night audience. They knew their customer and they launched what people were looking for.

And they did something else really well too – they launched shows which appealed to the family. Whether you were young or old, there was something for everyone and it was a talking point. People could get behind it and discuss it on a night out. if you didn’t watch that particular show, it was almost a disappointment to the people you were with who wanted to talk about it.

These shows were everywhere you looked too – and the judges became celebrities in their own right. Kids dreamed about becoming famous just by turning up at the auditions.

A perfect example was Pop Stars which my husband and I were addicted to.and then when the band Hearsay was launched, the producers again were very clever at following them while they were creating their first album and making sure they were everywhere.

So what did they do right in terms of marketing then?

Well these shows knew their audiences well and knew if they could get families involved, people would do the marketing for them in terms of word of mouth. Follow that by making sure these shows were everywhere and you’re onto a winner.

But what’s happened now – these shows aren’t quite as popular as they once were and people seem to have got tired of the same old format. new shows that are launched now (think of things like the Biggest Loser and So you think you can dance?) are popular for a while, but the popularity doesn’t last as long as it once did.

This is a classic example of the product running its course and I wonder if it won’t be long before most of the really popular shows have gone by the wayside.

So what can you learn from reality TV shows?

While you might not be as big as these shows, what you can do is know your audience and make sure that your business is seen and heard of in all the places your audience go. do that and you might find that you’re onto a winner.

Demi Lovato: Louis Walsh ‘Killed It’ On The X Factor USA

Louis Walsh reportedly arrived at The X Factor USA auditions with little idea of who Demi Lovato was, but the pair have become firm friends after the Irish music mogul’s guest stint on the judging panel.

With Simon Cowell in bed with bronchitis, the X Factor UK judge was flown across the Atlantic to join Lovato, Britney Spears and LA Reid behind television’s most famous desk.

Demi said after the Kansas City tryouts: "There is only one Simon… but Louis killed it tonight".

A source added: "Louis didn’t know much about Demi when he first arrived but they spoke a lot and he liked getting to know her more".

The Westlife mastermind also got along swimmingly with Britney.

"it looked like he got on well with Britney and was talking to her a lot," the insider revealed. "She was clearly very comfortable next to him and he’s a big Britney fan anyway."

Britney herself said: "I love Louis,  he’s really fun and I think he’s absolutely adorable. I do miss Simon a little bit though!"

The auditions will broadcast this autumn.

X Factor 2012: Kelly Rowland wouldn’t come back because Tulisa did!

Kelly Rowland reportedly decided not to come back to the X Factor, because she got confirmation that Tulisa would be back for the 2012 series.

Insiders say that the Destinys Child star was weighing up her options and considering sitting on the judging panel for a second year, however when she heard that it would mean sitting beside the N-Dubz star for another half a year, she decided that all the money just wasn’t worth it!

An ITV source told Heat magazine that Tulisa’s confirmation was the straw that broke Kelly’s back, saying:

‘Kelly had mixed feelings about coming back to the X Factor in the first place, partly because she wants to be in the US and concentrate on her career there.’

‘But when she heard that Tulisa had been confirmed as a judge, it made up her mind that it was right for her to exit the show. It’s no secret that Kelly never really got on with Tulisa.’

Things got frosty between the two ladies, when Tulisa called Misha B a bully on last year’s series of the ITV show. They pretended to make up after the incident, however many backstage sources say things were never the same between the only two females on the panel.

‘Kelly completely fell out with Tulisa,’ the source added, ‘Since then there’s been absolutely no contact with the two. She’s been telling friends that she feels sorry for whoever has to sit next to Tulisa.’

The source also claimed that Simon Cowell wasn’t offering Kelly enough money for a second series and that she wasn’t being granted permission to fly back and forward to America, while she worked on her US music career.

One of the stars tipped to be replacing Kelly, when the X Factor auditions start later this month, is former show judge Dannii Minogue and the source said bosses are so keen to have her back onboard, that they are willing to work around her commitments on Australia’s got Talent.

‘Producers are desperate to get Dannii back,’ they concluded.

Would you be glad to see Dannii back, or who would you like to replace Kelly? Leave your comments below…
